What's considered a medical abortion?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Medical abortion: A "medical abortion" is produced in early pregnancy by the use of an agent to interrupt the hormone production of the ovary (corpus luteum), or an agent which kills rapidly multiplying cells, like methotrexate. These methods are not always successful, but most often surgery ( a "d&c") is avoided.
