A member asked:

What would have a greater chance at creating an endemic in the u.s.: vibrio cholerae or etec?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Definitely E. coli: There is no cholera here in the United States, thanks in part to our excellent water and sewer systems, so there's very little chance of any type of outbreak. Usually where you see cholera outbreaks are in areas of civil war (like Yemen right now) or after a huge disaster like Haiti a few years ago from the earthquake. E. coli is much more common in the USA, and there are different types-like ETEC
