Echocardiogram: An echocardiogram would be used to evaluate cardiac anatomy, cardiac function, valvular disease and valvular hemodynamics. Basically abnormalities in cardiac structure or function would lead to an abnormal echo. Of course this is always one piece of the puzzle. Your clinical symptoms, and history should be discussed with your cardiologist to decide what course of action would be necessary.
