More info needed...: Maxillary or mandibular? Constant or episodic? Anterior or posterior? Bruxism? Dental restorations? Periodontal status? As you can see, your problem is best diagnosed by a dentist who can examine you... so many variables to consider.

Many things: Trauma, tooth decay, infected tooth, periodontal disease, benign tumor, malignant tumor, muscle pain, TMJ (jaw joint) problems, ear infection(referred to jaw), See oral surgeon or dentist for exam.
