A member asked:

If i chew ritalin (methylphenidate) instead of swallowing it whole, is that bad?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends: Ritalin (methylphenidate) is dispensed in many forms. There are liquid suspensions, short acting pills or pills with delayed release properties. If yours is a delayed release type, the chewing could result in all the med entering and leaving your system in 4 hours instead of the 8-12 some forms can give.
