Is taking three ritalin (methylphenidate) pills a day dangerous?

The range of dose for Ritalin (methylphenidate) depends upon the age of the person as well as any other medical isues or concomitatnt use of medicines. Use of Ritalin (methylphenidate) should be monitored for any adverse effects and therapeutic benefit and dose adjusted accordingly rather then worry about the number of pills.

Ritalin (methylphenidate): That depends on dose of each & whether prescribed & monitored by a doctor. If so, usually Ritalin (methylphenidate) immediate release works for 4-6 hours & can be given 3x daily, with last dose no later than 4 P.M. Due to possible interference with sleep. The slow release ritalin-la is long acting and usually given in A.M. & occasionally an added lower dose is given @2 P.M. If needed.
