A member asked:

Can contact lenses help my slight exotropia?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Exotropia: If a person requires glasses to improve their vision, particularly if they are nearsighted or have an astigmatism, then either glasses or contact lenses may control their small outward eye turn. A refractive correction, such as contact lenses, do this by increasing the eye's foveal fixation and promoting convergence (a simultaneous inward alignment of the eyes). Larger turns may not respond.
