Exotropia: Exotropia is when the eyes are pointed away from each other and this is present at all times. Alternating means that the deviation switches from one eye to the other. This is a common finding and in many cases does not require any treatment. If there are symptoms, such as double vision, difficulty focusing, headaches, then treatment is recommended.
