How long does it take for citalopram (celexa) to get out of your system completely?

Quickly: The medication itself does not stay in the body for very long time. Probably, in a few days, it is gone. The effect from citalopram might last for a number of weeks after you stopped it. Normally, after people stop antidepressants, nothing happens and they wonder why they took them to begin with. And months or two later depression comes back, but they always blame on something for this new depress.
