1: It only takes one time for your kidneys to completely shut down and you would have to go on dialysis.

??: The" # of times that kidneys fail" is not what decides whether or not dialysis is necessary, that is a decision made after looking at blood tests to measure the levels of proteins that should be cleared by the kidneys ( creatinine) , calculating the GFR - glomerular filtration rate ( or how efficient the kidneys are clearing waste) and urine output. A nephrologist should be on board asap.
