How many times can your kidney handle dialysis before failing completely?

Doesn't Matter: Sorry if the "snapshot" seems too blunt, but dialysis does not damage the kidneys or prevent them from healing when that is possible. It's started when the kidneys are severely damaged and not doing their job well enough. In some cases they can heal from an acute injury (severe infection, very low blood pressure, etc), but dialysis does not help or prevent that healing.

No number: Sometimes people have "acute" problems with their kidneys requiring dialysis. The dialysis allows the body to get rid of poisons that the kidneys cannot handle at the time. The kidneys may or may not recover, but it will not be related to how many dialysis treatments are done, rather what the underlying problem that damaged the kidneys was in the first place.
