Not necessarily: Many viral syndromes come with "Biphasic" symptomatology as you describe... same illness two "peaks" in symptoms Hope this helps Dr Z

Yes: during the viral season--you can have multiple infections going on----a secondary bacterial infection is quite common or you may get over one viral infection and then get a new one------if you are have fever,headache and cough with above symptoms---think the FLU
