Fattening: Too much of a good thing is no good for anybody. If you enjoy the food, don't get sick, and do not have diabetes I can't think of a reason you should change your habits.

Excess is stored: Hi. Excess sugar is stored, either as a sugar polymer (glycogen) in liver and muscle, or converted to fat (triglyceride) and stored. So excess sugar (and ALL sugar is natural) can be "fattening". Sugar is an excellent energy source , and in limited consumption, is OK. Good luck!
