Is .25 of xanax (alprazolam) a small or large amount?

Xanax (alprazolam): The dose of Xanax (alprazolam) u r prescribed is considered a low dose. However, I don't know how often it is prescribed during the day. If you are taking it daily, you need to be cautious in that it can be habit forming and lose its efficacy over time. People do do become physically dependent on this type of medication and can go into withdrawal if abruptly stopped. Please consult with ur Healthcare provider.

Alprazolam: 0.25 to 0.5 mg of Xanax up to three times a day as needed for anxiety is often a starting dose for this medication.

Small amount: As mentioned correctly, this is initial dosing and later increased if necessary, but clearly could be habituating or even addictive, and rather tough to taper off. Found to be valuable for panic disorder, but would keep at low dosage to be on safe side. However, have seen tolerance and need to increase over time in some.
