What are the best ways to play with my 8-month-old?

On the floor: When playing with children, it's always best to understand the child's developmental stage. 8-month-olds are often beginning to be mobile- usually by crawling. Getting down on the floor with them at eye level, talking to them and putting toys just out of their reach are things most 8-months-olds enjoy. Most importantly- have fun! if you're having a great time, so will your infant!

Be imaginative!: Often and joyfully. This is such a happy age for babies and they are so receptive. Sing songs, read stories, play music and dance. Get on the floor and roll a ball, play peek-a-boo, encourage them to move to objects. Take walks. Get in a pool. Visit a park and let them watch others and interact. Play with wooden spoons and tupperware. Teach dad to get involved daily. Most of all, enjoy!
