Avoid Scolding: 7 m olds have limited cognitive skills & language perception. Scolding a child this age is neither effective nor advisable. Also scolding assumes child knowingly disobeys which is not the case. Recommend child proofing off-limits areas for safety reasons: cabinet locks, electrical outlet covers, child gates, etc. Encouraging play & exploration in a safe environment will best benefit a young child.

Bizarre question: An infant views its caretakers as servants, whose reason for existence is primarily to serve the needs of the infant. It has no concept of right or wrong, and does not have the brain power to hold on to that concept. Enjoy the baby and watch it gradually morph into a thinking being. Do some reading about child development, before you over react to innocent behavior.
