Yes: The short answer is yes. The incidence if tardive dyskinesia with any of the atypical antipsychotics is not yet known. TD usually occurs after consistent use over many years due to persistent blockade of dopamine receptors in the motor cortex. Abilify (aripiprazole) is a dopamine agonist/antagonist. Up to 10 mg it increases dopamine activity and only at 30 mg persistently blocks dopamine receptors
