Virus or bacteria: The NAT test is used to detect a virus or a bacteria. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nucleic_acid_test However any test result is only of value when taking into account any symptoms you have and your overall health. Ask your doctor , it one was done, why the test was ordered.
