Downward nails: nails are made from tough keritin protein., Diet,past and current illnesses,age all effect the way they grow.
Downward growing nails may denote liver,heart or respiratory disease---or arsenic poisoning.
Nails that are flat in their growth pattern can be caused by Iron or protein deficiency--psoriasis and diabetes
