A member asked:

Does a stomach infection/virus always leading to something bigger like appendicitis?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No.: It is usually limited to epigastric pain, nausea, and vomiting. If it goes beyond that for more than 2-3 days, it could be something more serious, not necessarily appendicitis. Get to a doctor if symptoms progress or persist.
