Have been prescribed omeprazole for gastitis but why have i been prescribed 1 x 20mg twice a day, not 2 x 20mg once a day as per the info on the box?

Dosing Choices: Omeprazole is generally accepted to be a 24-hour medication. Some physicians, though, when choosing to start their patients on 40mg will elect to have the patient take one 20mg dose in the morning and the other at night to theoretically keep blood levels more stable.
