Exercise is good: A person at age 16 or above should have no effect on his height growth, from working out at a gym. If he is a healthy person, and living a healthy lifestyle, eating nutritious foods, etc..., then there is NO type of exercise that would alter his growth potential. Exercise is a great lifelong habit to get into, so keep it up. Have good sleep habits. Never smoke anything, and avoid sugar.

No/no: No it won't hurt you and no it wont make you taller. At your age you are finished growing taller but you have a great opportunity to add life long health by adding to your muscle mass and developing a healthy lifestyle. Finding a daily exercise program that you can follow through life puts you in a great position to improve and extend your quality of life.
