Viral infection: This is the season for viral infections (colds and the flu), but your symptoms sound more like viral sore throat ('pharyngitis') A sore throat can also give you pain in the ear, but if you have sharp or severe pain in your ear you should get it examined by a doctor. The usual treatment for aches, sore throat, mild fever is ibuprofen, decongestants if stuffed up, and lots of fluids.
