Male pattern baldnes: While there does appear to be some genetic component to hair loss, we can't predict how soon someone will lose theirs. However, the sooner one starts losing hair, it appears the worse off (sorry!). Topical minoxidil can help some while finasteride can help others. Be sure to chat w/your doctor as neither are w/o side effects and 18yo is pretty young to start drug for rest of your life.

Widows peak: Genetics can give you a clue for baldness and a widows peak is just the way the hair wants to grow so not related to baldness.
