Healing varies,: depending on the reason for surgery, (fracture, tumor, etc.) and whether there were any complications such as infection or non-union. Normal healing after a femoral fracture would be 4-6 months, but this can be longer if there is significant damage to the surrounding blood supply, complicated fracture, or if there is a large cyst or lesion that needs to ossify. When 17y, 10 months seems forever!
