Gastroenteritis: Has anyone else been sick? is there blood in the stool? has she had any nausea or vomiting? With a simple gastroenteritis she should be feeling better by now, if still having symptoms you need to take her to the doctor and address these other issues when discussing the history and physical exam. Hope she feels better soon

Depends: Hi, most benign causes of diarrhea usually start getting better within 3 days. If your 6-yo has (close to) normal appetite and energy level you can observe a few more days but if diarrhea and belly pain do not subside, or if accompanied by fever, inability to keep down fluids, loss of appetite or blood in diarrhea I'd recommend seeing a doctor soon.
