A member asked:

Are there any meds that could help during taper of valium? this is my 3rd day at 15mg, and it's getting harder. would mood stabilizers help?

Valium: Moos stabilizer medications take a while to have an effect, and are not usually used for this. There are other medications which can help, including drugs such as Clonidine, which is usually a BP medication. As an alternative, asking to try a more gradual taper cam also help.

Avoid other meds: Diazepam taper is hard due to its ling half life. Dose reductions need to be small and should be held for 10-14 days to prevent rebound. Pl see attached links for necessary guidelines. Good luck and keep up!
