A member asked:

Can you still get pregnant when both of my tubes tied and a c-section when it's been 5 years?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Possibly: While tubal ligation is one of the most effective methods of birth control, it can fail - even after years and years. If there is any suspicion of a pregnancy, a test should be done and if positive, a transvaginal ultrasound should be done to locate the pregnancy. There is a 30 % chance after tubal ligation that the pregnancy is outside the uterus.
