A member asked:

When should hiv test results be considered conclusive both antibody only and duo combo?

Viral count: Positive antibody test must be confirmed with viral RNA detection and count (in the past, western blot was used to confirm the ab test)

Variable: Most people who get infected test positive by 3 months, a bit sooner with duo test. Occasionally some people do get a positive test for a year after infection. HIV nucleic acid test is positive sooner and more specific. See this site for more info. http://www.cdc.gov/ActAgainstAIDS/basics/testing.html
