Depends: Are you bringing up mucus or foamy material? Is there acid ingestion (stomach, esophagus) or chest congestion? Is the blood that you see a blood-tinged material or clots of blood? Are you taking aspirin or blood thinners? Blood tinged may only indicate irritation caused by stressful effort, and clots are definitely serious. Get checked if this is more than just a passing passing problem.
