Barium mostly benign: Barium contrast itself is inert and not absorbed and does not usually cause reaction. However barium can be constipating if not much water is consumed after the study. Possible that some abdominal pain can be related to constipation.Obviously right lower quadrant pain can be related to ovarian cyst rupture,appendicitis, enteritis, or renal calculi.If continues see physician.
