A member asked:

Can i give my 2 & 1/2 year old bromfed (brompheniramine) as well as ibuprofen at the same time?

Not recommended: Most of the cough and cold medications for children are not really recommended any more for children under 4 years old. They don't work that well, and young kids get more side effects from them. Use the nasal saline and suction bulb to loosen mucous, give him extra fluids to drink and use a cool mist humidifier. Honey can be effective for cough as well.

See below.: In general, cold medications are not recommended at your child's age. However, if your doctor has prescribed Bromfed (brompheniramine) for him/her, it can be given with ibuprofen.
