A member asked:

Is becoming a doctor (specifically an obstetrician) difficult if math does not come naturally?

Dr. Roy Arnold answered

Specializes in Internal Medicine

Depends: Math isn't all that crucial to becoming a physician as it is in say engineering. Bear in mind that the pharmacology, physiology, physics and chemistry required do involve some higher math. The 1st 4 years of US medical training are the same whether you intend to specialize in Public Health or Brain surgery. Thanks for trusting HealthTap!
