No: Typically if this was a cellulitis and you did not do anything actively like take oral antibiotics or apply topical antibiotics it would not go away on its own. The fact that it improved hrs later on its own suggests something else, maybe allergic reaction

Not without treatmen: it can change dramatically wiht antibiotics .. but not that fast without them.
