Yes, if they test it: Most drug tests do not test for tramadol. The standard drug tests would not show tramadol.

Probably not: Routine drugs of abuse testing for opioids will not detect Tramadol, or some other semisynthetic opioids. In the event she would test positive, proof of a legitimate prescription may mitigate any adverse action. Thanks for trusting HealthTap!

Not likely: Although Tramadol is considered an opiod receptor agonist, amongst other things, it is not structurally similar enough to other narcotics to be detectable via a urine toxicology screening. The only way to detect it is to specifically check for it in the blood. Also, even if a substance is detected in a drug test, most companies allow it, as long as it is prescribed by a physician
