Have had a white bump on one side of the tongue for 3 months. brush biopsy and swab of throat were normal. what else can it be caused by?

Probably a fibroma: Glad you had it biopsied...a fibroma is benign and can be old "scar" tissue where you've traumatized or bitten(maybe accidentally) your tongue. The next most common thing would be verrucous in nature(wart). If you're bothered by it you're dentist or oral surgeon can remove it, preferably with a diode laser
