Possibly normal: Rare episodes that end quickly on their own or with a sip of water may be normal in healthy people. But, please watch for these red flags. (1) If food is remains stuck, go to the ER. (2) If this worsens with time (more frequent, longer or with softer foods), discuss this with your doctor. (3) Also see a doctor if you have other signs such as dry eyes/mouth, weight loss, pain or heartburn.
