Acceptable plan: If pt has had multiple episodes of bronchiolitis with wheezing or persistent wheezing, it may not be a bad idea to put on a daily dose of inhaled steroids to see if it can decrease inflammation and improve breathing/cough etc. Given these exacerbations happen more in the winter due to more viral illnesses, it makes sense to continue until the spring

Pretty standard plan: The inhaled budesonide is a membrane stabilizer that allows you to treat the site of lung irritation without using an oral steroid that would penetrate all body tissues. Doing so helps avoid medication side effects (oral) and repeated admissions for wheezing.
