A member asked:

Did a lot of des daughters die from it?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: Diethylstilbestrol (des) is a synthetic form of the hormone estrogen that was prescribed to pregnant women between 1940-1971 to prevent miscarriage, premature labor, & related complications of pregnancy. Women who took DES during pregnancy have an increased risk of breast cancer. Increased risks of clear cell adenocarcinoma of the vagina and cervix & of breast cancer have been found for daughters.
