Viral Bronchitis: If you are actively coughing or with a temperature I would not recommend exposing the elderly. Good hand washing will help reduce spread. It is possible you picked it up at work?

See below: Viral bronchitis is due to the common cold virus. People are most contagious for 3-4 days after they become ill. You should not return to work until 4 days have passed since you became sick. You need to get the flu vaccine if you haven't had it.
