The reason why: you stopped talking is not nearly as important as beginning to talk again. Start w/notes, then sing, then sentences. Please get a check up by your doc to make sure all is well vocally and w/your ears. You can give him/her a note to start then see if you can speak again. Peace and good health. Telephone talk can also bridge the gap.

I hope so, do you?: I also hope you have a skilled therapist you trust - more than only for medications. If not, this is a possible time to find one. If you have a helpmate, they can make calls - or you can use notes and emails. Please think of this as an opportunity to get more help. New approaches to PTSD can make a difference - let's be hopeful.
