Lower left discomfor: Discomfort in this area of the abdomen may come from abdominal wall muscle or from the lower colon. The latter could be due to diverticulitis or a viral intestinal infection. The former is the more serious and requires antibiotic treatment. If the discomfort persists and there Is tenderness and fever, see your physician for evaluation. Vomiting suggests a viral infection that improves in a few day
