Lactose intolerance: There is no cure for this but you can add the enzyme to his milk and other lactose containing foods. You can purchase milk with lactase added. All the best in dealing with this problem.

Will improve: Most children outgrow and become better with time, from allergies to cow’s milk, egg, and soy even if they have a history of a severe reactions in the childhood.

Depends: Some kids develop transient lactose intolerance during and after a bout of diarrhea. These kids usually regain lactose tolerance within a few days to weeks after the gut heals. Up to 1/4 of the population lose or never had the enzyme needed to digest lactose, and will learn to work around the issue. Lactose free milk or reduced lactose dairy (enzyme added, cheddar cheese, yogurt) make it tolerable.
