Could i have slightly damaged a nasal polyp which caused bleeding from coughing or something else?

Unlikely.: Do you have a history of nasal polyps? Nasal polyps tend to be quite fibrous, and bleed much less than the surrounding tissue. If you have a nosebleed it is unlikely that it is coming from polyps.
