A member asked:

Should i worry if baby apgars low?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends: The apgar score was developed more as a guideline for how quickly & intensely those monitoring a baby at birth should add oxygen, stimulate, assist breathing or do cpr. Low initial scores are often transient. A low score at 5 or 10 minutes is more worrisome because it suggests a greater degree of fetal distress prior to delivery.Discuss with your dr.
