To make it work well: This is one of several medications for which the time needed to work well requires it not to pass out of your system too quickly and it would w/o food to slow the process and raise the extent of absorption of gabapentin. Compared to a foodless state, lab tests show some measures of gabapentin up 33-84% and even up 33-118% depending on the fat content of the meal!
