Gabapentin problem: In 2008, the us food and drug administration mandated warning labeling for anticonvulsant medications regarding the increased risk of suicidal thoughts and behaviors. Patorno et al 2010 found gabapentin, lamotrigine, oxcarbazepine, and tiagabine, compared with the use of topiramate, may be associated with an increased risk of suicidal acts or violent deaths. Gabapentin by itself is beneficial.

Many meds that affect the mind have been given these warnings by the FDA, this doesn't mean they are unsafe or the risks great. It is to encourage the provider to follow the patient and weight the relative risks and benefits. Discuss your concerns with your MD. The main risk of gabapentin is sedation with affects on alertness and risk of falls.

Gapapentin?: These question r best to be asked to u physician . All medication can have side effect , but usually u physician calculate the benefit and potential side effect when he write u the medication. So please do communicate together.
