A member asked:

My husband got a pneumonia shot yesterday and has a painful hard lump about 3" x 6" at the site. it is not red. should we call his doctor?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Hematoma/LocalReacti: It is probebely a hematoma(Blood Clot) which is a little collection of clotted blood at the site which can happen sometime. The swelling will go away within a week. You can put ice on it for relief.Or it may be a local reaction to the vaccine and that will go away by itself as well.If the swelling does not go down than see your doctor, You can call the doctor anyway for piece of mind if you want.
