Yes: All ultrasound dating has an error factor of 5d - 2wk in the first trimester, and if you are not sure of your date of conception, it can be off by a larger amount, don't worry! Also if your baby is on the larger end of the growth scale, the dating will be slightly increased as well.

Yes: Early ultrasounds are very reliable for dating. The traditional method of dating from the first day of the last menstrual period is less so since ovulation may occur earlier or later and conception can occur a couple of days after ovulation. Hope this helps.
