Definitely: This is very strong medicine. Why is he taking this combo? Is he also taking alcohol? It should be governed by a doctor and not just taking it. He needs medical care as soon as it can be arranged Maybe even tonight at the ER. If he is delusional he needs help now!

Dose-response: Hi. Yes they certainly can, and not made any better by any underlying mental illness. Any history of substance abuse/dependence and/or mental illness? He may need professional help. I would make the physician prescribing the narcotic and benzo aware of your concerns. I wish you the best.
